Veteran's day

Let me be clear. I did not born in the USA. I really do not know what is or how it feels to be
an "American". In fact, I am an American too, because I was born in Venezuela, which is the northern
country in South America, but still part of this same continent: America. It might sound obvious and stupid for some people, but if you have lived enough here, you know why I have to clarify my country's location.

I moved here back in the year 2000, looking for a better life for me and my family. I believe, or I want to choose to believe that I made the right choice back then. I can not, and will not complain about what this country offered me back then, neither today; I can proudly say that I live in one of the best countries in the world and I'm very pleased and grateful with this country and the people.

Especially for the freedom and the safety that the American flag and this country stands for: "with liberty and justice for all". This country had to pay that high price many times, let me tell you.
You can count by the thousands all the men and women that sacrificed their lives for this country; and
here is where I learned how to pay respect and honor those who deserves it.

In my native country we can not have a day like this, a Vetarn's day, because sadly to say, all the military have never been in a war and all they do is deal with drugs, corruption and get richer while our dear country is down in ruins.

I dream with the day that we can celebarte in Venezuela a day for our military, that day where they went against the oppression, killed all those who robbed our country and sent to jail all those in corruption and drugs cartels. I dream for that day that we also can say: ...with liberty and justice for all!

Happy and well deserved Veterans day!
